WHO IS SUPPORTING THE FATHER?

Professional Perinatal Fatherhood Training

You’re good at what you do. You hold space for parents; you know birth inside out. And somewhere along the way, you started to notice the man sitting slightly outside the conversation.

He’s in the room, but the room isn’t really for him. He gets taught some massage, a list of what to pack in the birth bag and maybe a discussion around “new duties” at home; otherwise, he works it out alone.

Then, you see the Facebook posts, Mums saying things at home aren’t right. Her hubby has gone quiet, or he’s working all hours, or there’s tension nobody saw coming.

But this is what frustrates you, it’s rarely because he doesn’t care. So is going on?

It’s usually because he cares enormously and has no idea what to do with it.

His life changes every bit as much as his partner’s, just differently. His role, his relationship, his sense of who he is. Yet unlike her, he’s had almost no preparation for any of it.

So he feels something shifting and has no language for it. And feelings without language leak out sideways: irritability, withdrawal, overwork, distance.

Which is exactly why we built this diploma.

A genuinely different approach to supporting fathers

The conversation around fatherhood is shifting, and families are asking deeper questions. They want more than education that treats the father as a spare pair of hands.
That’s a real opportunity. Very few professionals anywhere are properly trained in paternal psychology, masculine distress or father-baby bonding. The field is wide open, and growing.

No previous experience needed. You’ll explore the psychology, the neuroscience, the communication and the attachment science, and learn to apply it confidently in your own work. And, as ever with ATI, you’re supported with your marketing for the long haul.

BECOMING A TRUSTED GUIDE

A session about birth positions and breathing was never going to be enough – in fact it’s wildely insufficient

Becoming a father reshapes a man’s stress responses, his coping, his confidence, his relationships and his sense of purpose, often all at once. And when he struggles quietly, it doesn’t stay contained. It ripples through the couple, the bonding, the whole home.

So the problem was never that fathers lack information. It’s that the system was never built to see them, and almost nobody is trained to support them as whole people.

This diploma changes that.

What's inside the Perinatal Fatherhood Practitioner Diploma?

Identity and Patrescence

Becoming a father remakes their sense of self , who he was, who he's becoming, what he quietly loses and gains along the way. You'll explore the felt experience of that identity shift, every bit as real as the birthing parent's, just far less talked about.

Societal Expectations and Masculinity

Men carry a lot of unspoken rules about what a "good dad" looks like. This unpacks where those expectations come from and how they shape, and sometimes silence, the way men father.

Masculine Distress and Mental Health

Paternal and maternal distress are rarely expressed in the same way as maternal distress. You'll learn to spot it disguised as withdrawal, anger, overwork or irritability, and develop the skills to reach and support them, without infantilising.

The Neuroscience and Hormones of Fatherhood

Fatherhood shifts the male brain and body more than most people realise. You'll explore the stress response, regulation and the hormones of bonding, taught honestly, including where the popular version oversimplifies it.

Father-Baby Attachment and Bonding

You'll explore the science of attachment, co-regulation and emotional safety, and the role of play, touch and responsiveness in building a strong father-baby relationship that shapes a child for life.

The Father's Own Father

Most men measure their fathering against their own dad — whether they mean to or not. You'll explore how a man's experience of being parented influences his growth into the parent he becomes, and how to support him in becoming the kind of father he wants to be.

Couple Communication and Conflict

You'll explore how parenthood reshapes intimacy, communication and conflict, and learn practical ways to help fathers stay connected to their partner through the strain rather than retreating into silence.

The Invisible Load and Modern Co-Parenting

Families come in many shapes and roles are shifting fast. You'll explore shared parenting, emotional labour and the invisible load, so the support you offer fits the family in front of you.

Supporting Him Through Pregnancy and Birth

Often, a mix of helplessness and fear. You'll learn to support a father through it, without relying solely on massage, breathing and other "sidekick" roles, so he can be genuinely present rather than quietly overwhelmed.

Inclusive Parenthood

You'll explore the experiences of neurodivergent fathers, LGBTQ+ families, adoptive and non-biological fathers, separated and young fathers, and learn to make your support genuinely welcoming to all of them.

Engaging Men: Why They Don't Talk, and What Helps

Men don't respond the way their partners do. You'll learn what actually gets a father to open up, and why how you ask matters far more than what you offer.

A few words about Inclusion

You’ll notice this diploma talks about fathers and men, rather than using more inclusive language.

As a training provider who takes this very seriously, this is something we wrestled with. Men undergo real, measurable hormonal and biological changes as they move into fatherhood: shifts in testosterone and in the hormones of bonding and stress, as the male body and brain adapt. That’s physiology, and it’s distinct to men, and that doesn’t cross over to any other type of partner.

A non-birthing mother in a same-sex couple, or a non-binary co-parent, is going through an enormous transition of their own, but in a different way.

The biology is only half of it. Masculinity and social expectation shape how men cope and whether they ever admit to struggling. Men disclose distress differently, and far more reluctantly, than their partners.

The good news is that every partner deserves space and support, and much of what you learn here, the identity shift, the relational strain, the bonding, will strengthen your ability to support non-birthing partners who aren’t cisgender fathers. What we won’t do is gather them all into one tidy group, because that’s just not how humans are!

Fast forward, 1000’s parents, 1500 students, 16 years of research and 9 years of post-grad study later, Lizzie will be showing you how throwing away the “rule book” about perinatal education is the best thing you can do to build an impactful, powerful and life-changing service for your parents.

These are the exact methods that got parents travelling 2 hours to her classes and dream celebrity clients book her services !!

Ruth, Mia and Becky also teach on this course!

“This company was recommended to me, and because of the money-back guarantee, I decided to give it a go. Loving it! Especially the live tutorials and the variety of learning materials. I feel mentally stretched and energised. Found my village! Thank you Lizzie.””

Insurance

Westminster Insurance Affiliation

Antenatal Training International has gained affiliation with Westminster Insurance. This partnership has been awarded in recognition of our exceptional quality courses and ensures that all our students can be covered for a discounted fee in any area we train in!

Your questions answered...

None! Your qualification doesn’t “run out”, it doesn’t need renewing, you are not tied to any licencing or membership. After the Perinatal Fatherhood Practitioner Training you are an independent practitioner.

Anywhere you deem suitable. This maybe your home, it maybe a community centre – I’ve even taught in a yurt, wedding venues and a boat!  Inside the training you will  discover lots of tips on how to choose venues, how to manipulate venues – even how to source venues depending on the weather and season!! Intrigued much? lol

Your training consists of  the online self paced modules, as well as a series of live tutorials on all manor of subjects.

Each tutorial is between 1 and 2 hours enabling you to fit this round your schedule and you can pick and choose which ones, and how many you come too.

We also don’t insist you join of these live, as they are recorded, and we recognise that 7pm UK is probably 3am for some of our students!

These tutorials are a mix of support, chances to get questions answered and to discuss your learnings and insights.

After your Perinatal Fatherhood Practitioner training, theses tutorials can continue if you wish! Just because you’ve qualified does not mean we remove the live support.

We also have a Facebook group and CPD opportunities for mentorship lead by the team and guest experts.

Its very understandable to be nervous – after all learning online is very different to teaching a groups of strangers in person!

ATI gives you the chance to learn and practice hot to tach in variety of different ways – from online live and recorded sessions, to our workshops that help you develop your skills in private and group classes.

We even take you though the different skill set in running retreats and community events!

So no matter how you want to teach your classes you are covered with plenty of chances to practice.

There are three main reasons really.

The first is the way we teach you – to consciously consider and design your lessons – how you want them to be.  We don’t teach you to teach “our way”. We encourage and support you to explore the way that feels right for you and your parents’.

Of course, we have so many resources included in your Perinatal Fatherhood Practitioner training that you can, if you want, just pick these up and run with them. Whatever is right for you!

The second thing is our vision to see Perinatal Educators recognised as a valuable part of a parent’s maternity team. To see them recognised as the expert professional we train you to be. This means our training is so levelled up, you will be able to take great pride in your work, but also stand shoulder to shoulder with other professionals (as one student said, I could “hold my own”)

And lastly, but most importantly, is the 3D rEvolution and the ECLATra methodologies. Combining holistic and evidence-based care to impact a parent’s emotional and mental well-being is THE core reason why ATI exists.

Just take this simple comparison for an example – our Advocacy training (just this one element from the ECLATra training) is a 16 hour module, whilst others offer this through a 2 hour workshop.

This the difference between gaining an understanding of a topic or gaining s strong skill set.

Yes, Yes you can!

Ok so lest start with out ongoing extensive marketing training and support. Getting you up and running with your brand, your message and marketing from the moment you enrol – but importantly KEEPING it going beyond qualification!

Instagram likes dropped off a cliff, TikTok reel showing to 3 people (and ones your Gran)? Pop onto a tutorial and gets Pamela’s eyes directly on your feed and  fix the problem!

Lifetime support and lifetime updates for an ever changing, and frankly often confusing part to your business.

If you don’t have the time to market your classes or simply don’t want to bother with it (who could blame you!) you also have the choice to teach for your UK wide agency BirthWorld CIC. Gain clients on autopilot and just turn up and teach!

Birth World

Well to be honest you don’t know until you try. We wont be for everyone admittedly, and nor do we try.

But to help you decide, we do have a taster experience so you can have a go at some of the modules, see our workbooks and generally see how the backend fits together.

Just pop to the link below to take a look.

No absolutely not. There are no entry requirements.

We will support anyone to become the wonderful antenatal educator they can be.
