Hello, I'm Lizzie and I spent most of my midwifery training in tears

My story started out much the same way as those above.

I watched parents flounder without the support they needed, parents coerced into interventions. Consent treated as an optional extra.

It broke me, but I still adored what midwifery should be, so I left determined to find another path through antenatal education. 

But whilst it was lovely, it never gave me the missing link between support outside the system and improving outcomes within it. So over the next 16 years, I researched, tested, and researched again, trying to close the gap. 

That work eventually became the frameworks I now call 3D rEvolution and ECLATra.

I may have lost the title of midwife, but I became more ‘with woman’ than ever before.

But I wasn’t just another antenatal teacher.

I ended up supporting over 40 parents every month — some travelling two hours to get to me, others staying with me for 18 months or more. Because I was giving them something they genuinely needed, word got around.

Those same frameworks now underpin the work we teach at ATI. And the NHS I once walked away from now sends its own people to us to learn.
