From addressing breast and nipple pain/trauma to managing engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis, and infections, we delve into both conventional NICE-approved treatments and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approaches. You’ll also gain insights into surgical considerations related to breastfeeding issues.

This module will guide you through the elements of feeding positions to to be able to educate your parents on:

  • Twins
  • Caesarean sections
  • Latching techniques and issues
  • Biological

This module will guide you through the considerations regarding medications, to be able to educate your parents.

Our NICU module is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and skills necessary for supporting infants in a neonatal intensive care unit. You will learn how to care for premature babies, including the delicate process of tube feeding and re-introducing breastfeeding when the time is right. We emphasise the importance of skin-to-skin contact, also known as Kangaroo care, for the well-being of both baby and parents. Additionally, we address the crucial aspect of mental health, ensuring that you can offer emotional support to families during their NICU journey

Our module on laws, ethics, and codes is an essential component of our comprehensive program, offering a deep dive into the legal and ethical aspects of your role as a breastfeeding counsellor. You’ll gain a profound understanding of the regulations and laws governing healthcare practices, ensuring that you provide care within a legal framework. We explore the ethical considerations and dilemmas that may arise in your profession, equipping you with the tools to make informed and ethical decisions. Additionally, we delve into the codes of conduct and professional standards that govern breastfeeding counselling, empowering you to maintain the highest level of professionalism and integrity in your practice. This module is designed to foster ethical awareness and legal competence, ensuring that you can provide the best possible care to mothers and babies while upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

Safeguarding helps protect yourself and those you are working with. This includes both the parents and the babies. Learn the signs of harm, abuse, neglect and how to support and signpost. A template for a safeguarding policy is included.

This course will give you a qualification in general breastfeeding support. It is not designed for educators who want to give 1-2-1 support or for helping Mothers with complex issues.

The breastfeeding counsellor qualification is the right choice for you if you want to give hands on, 1-2-1 support to your clients. You will be equipped to give specific  breastfeeding assistance and deal with common issues.

A lactation consultant is a professional breastfeeding expert that is fully qualified to support parents on their breastfeeding journey. Equipped with training to deal with complex cases including NICU, feeding tubes and cleft palettes.
